About Us

Our founders, Sam and Ashley met at the Horticulture Unit at Fresno State back in the late 90’s. They both graduated with horticulture degrees and went their separate ways.

Years later, Sam was running a wholesale nursery full-time, but decided to turn his dream of running his own nursery into a reality. Sierra View Nursery was then opened in 2000, but only on the weekends.

​

In 2004, Sam and Ashley’s paths crossed again while she was running the Clovis Lowes garden department. They were married months later and dedicated all their time to building Sierra View into the amazing nursery it is today.  

​

Before the nursery began, our founders worked for many years in corporate and independent garden centers gaining invaluable experience along the way. They wanted to take all of what they learned, good and bad, and use it to create the best possible customer experience. From growing most of our plants in-house and using our own plant care products to sharing the knowledge they spent years accumulating with our staff and customers, this goal has always remained the same.

They have worked together day in and day out (still do!) to put together a team that is dedicated to carrying out these core values and to cultivate a family-friendly atmosphere. It is thanks to our customers that we have grown this nursery into a 20-acre garden center that offers an abundance of plants, plant products and services.
