Care Guidelines

Produces abundant clusters of large to very large berries with tasty, balanced sweet flavor. Very productive and highly rated. Zones 7-10. 

  • 250 or less chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest through Spring.

  • Requires a pollinator. 

EMERALD

JELLY BEAN® 

Large, sweet, flavorful blueberries in mid-summer. Foliage has distinctive elongated, green leaves with highlights of red in cooler climates. Mounded, compact growth habit to 1-2 ft., well suited to patio container growing or decorative use in landscape. USDA zones 4-8. U.S. Plant Patent #24662.

  • 1000 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest late July through early August.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry. 

JEWEL

Southern Highbush. One of California's leading commercial varieties due to its high adaptability. Exceptional growth and high yields. Midseason harvest of large to very large berries with tangy sweet flavor. Zones 7-10.

  • 200 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest through Summer.

  • Partially self fruiting. Mixing them with other southern highbush varieties will increase yield.

Jubilee: Southern Highbush. Midseason, sweet, firm berry. Upright and quite compact bush, with fruit borne on the outer periphery. 

  • 400-500 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest in Spring.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry. 

JUBILEE

Early season. In the Misty is quite vigorous, growing very well on the coast and in the inland heat. This especially flavorful fruit does well in areas with mild winters and hot summers.

  • 150 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest in Spring.

  • Self-fruitful

  • Great pollinator for other blueberry varieties to get even larger yields!

PEACH SORBET® 

This compact-growing blueberry is a stunner: leaves of peach, pink, orange and emerald green. White bell-shaped flowers in spring, followed by flavorful, sweet blueberries in summer. Mounded shape, growing to 1 1/2 -2 ft. In most climates, the leaves are held throughout winter, turning to a rich purple color. USDA zones 5-10. U.S. Plant Pat.#23325.

  • 300 or less chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest in Summer.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry.

PINK ICING® 

Distinctive foliage colors and large, richly flavored berries. In spring, the foliage has many shades of pink, mixed with blue and deep greens. The leaves turn a showy iridescent turquoise blue in winter. Mounded, compact growth habit to 3-4 ft. Adapted to patio container growing or landscape use for year-round color. USDA zones 5-10.   • 500 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest late May to early June.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry. 

Large fruit is especially sweet and flavorful. Early season. 5-6 ft. bush.

O'NEAL

Southern highbush. Exceptional berries with superb flavor. Florida native with vigorous, upright character. Performs well in California, both inland and coastal. Prefers light sandy soils. (Pat No. 9834)

  • 200-300 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest in June.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry. 

SOUTHMOON

Great flavored firm berries. Semi-dwarf evergreen bush with great fall color. Showy hot pink flowers fade to white in spring. Very cold hardy.

  • 150 chill hour requirement.

  • Harvest in June to July.

  • Self-fruitful, but will produce larger crops when planted with another blueberry.
