With the help of family and friends, Sierra View Nursery first opened in the spring of 2000. Although the grounds have grown over the years, the desire to provide Clovis, Fresno and the surrounding areas with quality plants, beauifully desiged landscapes, and the "how to" knowledge to create and maintain gardens has remained our primary goal.
The encouragement and loyalty from our customers over the years has continued to challenge us to reach for excellence. We grow the majority of our plants on site. By doing this, we are able to maximize your success when you plant our plants in your garden. We know you can buy "plants" anywhere, but we take pride in painstakingly hand choosing only the highest quality plants and products. We are proud of our quality and wide variety of traditional and unique annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs. Also, by selling almost exclusively retail, we are able to concentrate on you, our customer, and your needs.
We strive to create a comfortable family atmosphere for your enjoyment. To us, you are not just a number. You are a friend. We know we could not be where we are today without your help. It is always a pleasure to give advice or just sit and visit. If you are a beginner or seasoned gardener, we hope to become your "go to" nursery for all your gardening needs.
Sam Jr. and Ashley Hood are the owners of Sierra View Nursery. We both have a degree in Horticulture from CSU, Fresno. Having studied locally, we know the challenges that this area presents when it comes to gardening. Let us put our knowledge to the test to help you! Creating fabulous gardens, and having fun doing it, is a serious passion for us.
Being a family owned business, everyone helps out. We are blessed to have the best parents/in laws! Sam Sr. and Marilyn fill in when needed... as truck driver, tractor driver, salesperson, or babysitter. Whatever it is, they do it with a smile! Sams sister, Michelle, does the accounting... and occational babysitting too. Kaitlynne and Gabriella are the next generation in the Sierra View family. Don't be surprised to see them out helping mom and dad in the family business! And Kaity makes some mean lemonade! Last, but not least, we have our mascot and local chow hound Brutus.
